The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has appointed Prof. Neven Duić of FSB as Coordinating Lead Author of Chapter 14, “Integration and interactions across sectors and systems”, in its Seventh Assessment Report.
Prof. Duić was selected through a highly competitive process in which thousands of scientists worldwide compete for a limited number of positions. His appointment is the first time a researcher from Croatia has been named to such a senior role in the IPCC.
He joins Working Group III, which assesses solutions for mitigating climate change. As Coordinating Lead Author he leads the drafting of the chapter, coordinates the lead authors and ensures the report conveys the latest science in a balanced, comprehensive way.
The first Lead Author meeting, the first ever to bring together all three working groups, was held in Paris from 1 to 5 December 2025.
