In Their Own Words

Stories from mi-energetičari.fsb.hr, the alumni community built by graduates of this programme.

"Energy Engineering was unique: we studied and spent time together as a group, which created a genuinely stimulating atmosphere. Today I teach students about something that has purpose, that can change the future. I made the right choice."
Anamarija Falkoni
Assistant Professor · University of Dubrovnik

"It's a fascinating field with constant change: decentralised energy systems, optimisation, programming. Modern energy engineering combines rigorous technical depth with problems that actually matter. And we were surrounded by exceptional people."
Dominik Franjo Dominković
Senior Researcher · DTU, Denmark

"What made PowerLab unique was the room itself: the best computers, the best software, fast internet, and people who would solve problems together whenever you got stuck. That's where my love for research developed."
Nebojša Gavrilov
Energy Engineer · International career

"Mechanical engineering turned out to be an excellent choice and I have no regrets. A law degree certainly wouldn't have taken me to Australia, but energy engineering took me further than I'd planned."

Where the Degree Leads

01 Work Across Europe

Over a quarter of graduates work internationally: EU institutions, research labs in Germany, Austria, Denmark and the UK, or energy companies across borders.

02 Lead Croatian Energy

HEP, Elektroprojekt, Ekonerg, Plinacro: the organisations running Croatia's energy infrastructure were built in part by graduates of this programme.

03 Join Global Industry

Končar, Vertiv, AVL, Bugatti Rimac, Atlas Copco: global companies with Croatian operations recruit directly from this programme for product and manufacturing roles.

04 Stay in Research

Around 50 alumni have completed doctorates, above the FSB average. Many hold positions at Aalborg University, Lund, UCL, Vienna and DLR Stuttgart. The infrastructure, supervisors and EU funding to continue are already here.
