On 22 September, Prof. Neven Duić, head of PowerLab, gave an invited talk at the Smart Energy Systems 2026 conference in Aalborg, Denmark, one of the world’s leading conferences on sustainable energy and future energy systems.
The conference brings together researchers, experts and industry representatives from around the world working on renewable energy integration, energy efficiency and solutions for the energy transition.
In his talk, “Process carbon emissions – storing, utilizing or offsetting within global carbon emission constraints”, Prof. Duić discussed options for reducing industrial carbon emissions and different approaches to storing, using and offsetting them within global climate targets.
PowerLab has worked with Aalborg University for more than two decades. This collaboration produced the Smart Energy Systems framework in 2011, which is also the foundation of this conference.
